Sketch of cracked stone, Eagle headed genie, alabaster, Assryian, reign of Ashur-Nasir-Pal, ca. 859 BC in Brooklyn Museum

Sketched in the Brooklyn Museum with the Urban Sketchers NYC.  My sketch is a detail of the Assyrian relief "Eagle-headed genie between two sacred trees".  Alabaster, ca. 883-859 BC, Iraq.  Two knives tucked in his garment.  I am very interested in sketching low relief sculptures.  These Assyrian reliefs are so beautiful.  Watercolor and micron pen on Aquaboard panel. 5 x 7"
